A Historic Event Rooted in the Forez

Founded in 1884, the Comice Agricole de Feurs is deeply rooted in the agricultural history of the Forez plain. For over 140 years, this event has showcased livestock farming, agriculture, and the rural world of the Loire and neighboring departments. Organized by the Société d'Agriculture de l'arrondissement de Montbrison, the comice has become over the decades the largest agricultural event in the region, rivaling national shows in the quality of its competitions and the diversity of its activities.

Feurs, a small town in the Forez plain located at the crossroads of agricultural Loire, hosts this event every year, transforming the town into the true capital of Loire agriculture for four days.

High-Level Livestock Competitions

The heart of the Comice de Feurs remains its livestock competitions, recognized for their excellence and scale:

• Charolais Cattle Competition: nearly 170 animals presented by about forty breeders, with rigorous selections and highly coveted prizes
• Limousin Cattle Competition: sixty animals registered by twenty passionate breeders
• Sheep Competition: lamb competitions with groups presented by breeders from the Loire and surrounding departments
• National Poultry Exhibition: one of the largest in France, bringing together hundreds of poultry, rabbits, and waterfowl of various breeds
• Dairy Cows: presentation of dairy breeds at Parc du Rozier in conjunction with Campus Agronova

A Multifaceted Exhibition Fair

Beyond the livestock competitions, the Comice de Feurs is a true exhibition fair that brings together over 500 exhibitors in various sectors:

• Gastronomy and Local Produce Area: local producers, cheeses, charcuterie, wines from Côte roannaise and Côtes du Forez, honey, jams, and regional specialties
• Car Show: presentation of the latest models by regional dealerships
• Agricultural Machinery: demonstrations of equipment and machinery for agriculture and livestock farming
