The most prestigious polo tournament in France in the heart of the Deauville racecourse
The first polo matches were played in Deauville as early as 1880. The Deauville International Polo Club, founded in 1907 by Baron Robert de Rothschild, Captain Joubert, and the Duke of Gramont, has occupied the heart of the Deauville-La Touques racecourse for over a century.
The legendary Coupe d'Or was established by François André in 1950. Since the first edition won in 1951 by Cibao La Pampa, most of the biggest names in international polo have made their mark on the Touques fields.
The Coupe d'Or is part of the Barrière Deauville Polo Cup, a series of four major tournaments held throughout August. This unique event stands out for its location in the heart of an active racecourse, offering a spectacular setting for matches and spectators.
Beyond the sporting competition, the Coupe d'Or is a social gathering place for polo enthusiasts, stable owners, and lovers of the art of living. Access to the matches is free for the public, making this event an accessible spectacle for everyone.
The 77th Coupe d'Or de Polo de Deauville will take place from August 17 to 30, 2026, in the heart of the Deauville-La Touques racecourse. The Barrière Deauville Polo Cup will begin on August 10 with four major tournaments. The full program will be available on the Deauville International Polo Club website.
