The unmissable humor festival of Honfleur
Since 2001, the Festival Estuaire d'en Rire has filled the magnificent Greniers à Sel of Honfleur with laughter. These historic 17th-century buildings, converted into a cultural space in the heart of the Norman city, host the event every September for five days. The festival welcomes the biggest names in French humor and emerging talents for evenings of one-man shows, stand-up, and comedy.
Each edition offers an eclectic program that combines nationally renowned comedians with regional opening acts, providing a platform for young Norman talents. The 2025 edition, the 25th, will feature artists such as Booder, Blandine Lehout, Mathieu Madenian, and Camille Chamoux. Each evening concludes with a disguised karaoke after-party, creating a unique and warm atmosphere.
The Festival Estuaire d'en Rire is powered by about fifty passionate volunteers who manage organization, reception, technical aspects, and catering. This human and friendly dimension is at the core of the festival's identity, aiming to be a place for meeting and sharing through laughter. The association Estuaire d'en Rire, based in Honfleur, organizes the event in collaboration with the City of Honfleur and the Tourist Office.
The Greniers à Sel of Honfleur, built in the 17th century to store salt for fish preservation, offers a unique architectural setting for humor performances. Their stone vaults and distinct acoustics create an intimacy conducive to laughter and connection between artists and the audience.
