Laluque is a commune located in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne forest massif, between Mont-de-Marsan and Dax. Its territory, largely covered by maritime pine forest, offers an ideal playground for trail running. The trails that crisscross the communal forest feature a variety of terrains — sand, pine needles, compacted earth, roots — which constitutes a technical challenge appreciated by runners.
The Pioc: mascot and identity
The "Pioc" is the local name given to the owl or eagle-owl in the Landes dialect, a nocturnal bird omnipresent in the Laluque forest. This choice of name anchors the race in the Landes terroir and symbolizes the wildlife that populates this forest crossed by the runners.

Access
By car: Laluque is located 20 km southwest of Mont-de-Marsan and 30 km northeast of Dax, accessible via the D824. Follow signs to the village center on race day. Free parking at the race start, near the village hall.
By transport: Mont-de-Marsan station (20 km) or Dax station (30 km). No direct public transport to Laluque, carpooling is recommended.
Start Location
The start and finish are located in the center of Laluque, near the communal village hall. The reception area includes changing rooms, restrooms, and the registration point. A convivial space is set up for after the race with refreshments and food.
Schedule
- Registration and bib collection: from 8:30 AM at the race village
- 16 km Trail start: 9:30 AM
- 9 km Trail start: 9:40 AM
- 7 km Walk start: 9:45 AM
- Award ceremony: upon arrival of the last runners

Equipment and Course
Trail or running shoes with good grip recommended for forest trails (sand, pine needles, roots, earth). As the courses are 90% forest paths and single tracks, the terrain is varied and requires particular attention. Bring a personal water bottle, even though aid stations are available on the courses.
Aid Stations and Timing
Aid stations with water and dried fruit are located along the trail courses. Official timing is provided by Pyrénées Chrono, ensuring accurate results and real-time rankings available after the race.
