A Medieval Village Illuminated

Crèches et Féeries de Noël is a winter event organized by the association Flavigny Animations in the village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Each year, from late November to early January, about a hundred illuminated nativity scenes are displayed behind the windows of the village houses, creating a magical trail through the medieval alleys.

An Enchanting Luminous Trail

The nativity scenes, offered or lent by residents and collectors, are highly diverse: traditional nativity scenes, nativity scenes from around the world, artisanal nativity scenes, and original creations. They are illuminated every evening from 4:30 PM to 9 PM (or 10 PM depending on the edition), transforming the village into a living tableau. Visitors can wander freely through the streets and alleys of Flavigny to discover each nativity scene, in an atmosphere of calm and contemplation.

The Christmas Market

A Christmas market complements the exhibition on the second weekend of December. Artisans, creators, and local producers take over the village streets to offer gifts, decorations, and seasonal treats. This weekend is the highlight of the event, attracting many visitors to the village.

Flavigny, a Village of Character

Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, perched on its rocky outcrop, offers an ideal setting for this winter exhibition. The old houses, medieval gates, and cobbled alleys form a naturally enchanting backdrop that lends itself to the magic of Christmas. The village is also famous for its Fabrique des Anis de Flavigny, whose flavored candies are an integral part of the local identity.
