Festival of literature and spoken word in the heart of the Jura
Created about ten years ago, Dé-lire en Revermont has become an essential literary event in the Jura department. This traveling festival takes over the towns and villages of the Jura Revermont each spring — Arbois, Champagnole, Poligny, Salins-les-Bains, and their surroundings — to offer the public literary encounters of rare quality in a warm and accessible setting.
The originality of Dé-lire en Revermont lies in its celebration of spoken word. Driven by the association Lire au Cœur du Jura and the Compagnie Le Porte Plume, the festival makes reading a living, shared, and generous art. The texts of invited authors are brought to life by passionate actors and readers, in heritage sites, gardens, wine cellars, or in the heart of nature, along the trails of the Revermont.
Each edition welcomes renowned writers around a unifying theme. In 2025, for the 9th edition, the theme of childhood brought together Delphine Bertholon, Chloé Leray, and Laurent Petitmangin. The authors participate in meet-and-greets with book signings, public readings, and literary conversations with the audience.
The festival spans three days with a dense and eclectic program:
Dé-lire en Revermont is entirely free. The festival is aimed at all audiences, from passionate readers to novices, as its motto summarizes: “If you are between 7 and 107 years old, if you don’t like reading, if you like reading, if your books are used as doorstops, if you love adventure and new experiences, and even if you think this isn’t for you: we are waiting for you!”
The festival takes advantage of the beauty of the Jura Revermont, this territory of vineyards, valleys, and perched villages between Arbois and Salins-les-Bains. The readings and literary walks take place in emblematic local heritage sites, creating a unique experience where literature and landscape respond to each other.
The 10th edition of Dé-lire en Revermont will take place from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31, 2026 in Arbois, Champagnole, Poligny, and Salins-les-Bains. Under the motto '10 years, let's celebrate!', the festival welcomes four guest authors — Anne-Laure Bondoux, Séverine Cressan, Gilles Marchand, and Florian Pigé — for four days of readings aloud, musical readings, meetings, workshops, literary walks, and a closing concert with Lass.
For its tenth anniversary, Dé-lire en Revermont is presenting an anniversary edition over four days (instead of the usual three) across the Cœur du Jura and Champagnole-Nozeroy territories. The theme of this edition: '10 years, let's celebrate!', with an 'even more joyful' program combining literature, music, drawing, and nature walks.
This anniversary edition offers more than fifteen events: readings aloud, musical readings, illustrated musical reading (original creation), meetings and book signings, illustration workshops, exhibition, literary hike, and closing concert with world / electro artist Lass. The festival involves independent bookstores (Le Hamac in Arbois, La Fruitière des Livres in Poligny), the media libraries of the Cœur du Jura network, the Espace Pasteur in Arbois, and the Grande Saline in Salins-les-Bains, in partnership with the Moulin de Brainans, Atout Livre, and Compagnie Le Porte Plume.
All meetings, readings, workshops, and literary walks are free and open to all. Only Lass's closing concert at the Espace Pasteur in Arbois is paid (Moulin de Brainans ticket office: €10 normal price, €5 reduced price, free for subscribers).
