Festival of literature and spoken word in the heart of the Jura
Dé-lire en Revermont is a festival of literature and spoken word that unfolds each spring around Arbois, Champagnole, Poligny, and Salins-les-Bains, in the Jura region. Organized by the association Lire au Cœur du Jura and the Compagnie Le Porte Plume, this free festival, open to all, offers encounters with invited authors, spoken word performances, literary concerts, literary walks, drawing and writing workshops for children and adults, and convivial picnics. Each edition explores a different theme with renowned writers.
Created about ten years ago, Dé-lire en Revermont has become an essential literary event in the Jura department. This traveling festival takes over the towns and villages of the Jura Revermont each spring — Arbois, Champagnole, Poligny, Salins-les-Bains, and their surroundings — to offer the public literary encounters of rare quality in a warm and accessible setting.
The originality of Dé-lire en Revermont lies in its celebration of spoken word. Driven by the association Lire au Cœur du Jura and the Compagnie Le Porte Plume, the festival makes reading a living, shared, and generous art. The texts of invited authors are brought to life by passionate actors and readers, in heritage sites, gardens, wine cellars, or in the heart of nature, along the trails of the Revermont.
Each edition welcomes renowned writers around a unifying theme. In 2025, for the 9th edition, the theme of childhood brought together Delphine Bertholon, Chloé Leray, and Laurent Petitmangin. The authors participate in meet-and-greets with book signings, public readings, and literary conversations with the audience.
The festival spans three days with a dense and eclectic program:
Dé-lire en Revermont is entirely free. The festival is aimed at all audiences, from passionate readers to novices, as its motto summarizes: “If you are between 7 and 107 years old, if you don’t like reading, if you like reading, if your books are used as doorstops, if you love adventure and new experiences, and even if you think this isn’t for you: we are waiting for you!”
The festival takes advantage of the beauty of the Jura Revermont, this territory of vineyards, valleys, and perched villages between Arbois and Salins-les-Bains. The readings and literary walks take place in emblematic local heritage sites, creating a unique experience where literature and landscape respond to each other.
The 10th edition of Dé-lire en Revermont will be held in the spring of 2026 in the Jura Revermont. The program, theme, and invited authors will be announced in early 2026 on the festival's official website.
