Des Livres et Nous: The Book Festival in Biars-sur-Cère

The Des Livres et Nous festival is a literary event held annually in Biars-sur-Cère, in the Lot department, at the inter-municipal media and game library of the Robert Doisneau Social and Cultural Center. Organized by the Community of Communes Causses et Vallée de la Dordogne (CAUVALDOR), this festival celebrates reading, writing, and the pleasure of meeting authors and readers.

The Des Livres et Nous program includes author conferences, meet-and-greets with book signings, musical readings, and activities for young audiences. Michel Piquemal, a prolific children's author who has published over 250 works since 1988, shared his experience during a conference titled "A life as a children's novelist, it's a dream!". The writer Nelly Duplouy-Patru, born in the region between Ségala and Auvergne, presented her book "Tout et rien tant et si peu" (Everything and Nothing So Much and So Little), reflecting a rich life journey between social commitment and writing. These meetings allow the public to discover the behind-the-scenes of literary creation and forge a special bond with the authors.

The festival takes place at the Robert Doisneau Social and Cultural Center, located at 94 avenue de la République in Biars-sur-Cère.
