Poligny is recognized as the world capital of Comté, the best-selling AOP cheese in France. It is in this ideal setting that Faites du Comté takes place every summer, a popular festival that celebrates this exceptional cheese heritage.

A festive and gourmet program

Faites du Comté offers a varied program that delights young and old alike:

• Traditional Comté making: live demonstration of the cheese-making steps according to ancestral methods, from raw milk to molding.
• Mini-farm: an educational area with farm animals to introduce children to the agricultural world of the Jura.
• Mini-cheesemaker workshops: children can learn to make a mini-Comté under the supervision of professionals.
• Jura wine tastings: winemakers from the appellation offer tastings of Vin Jaune, Savagnin, Chardonnay, and Crémant du Jura, perfect pairings with Comté.
• Music and entertainment: concerts and musical entertainment in the streets of the town center, bouncy castle for children.

The giant fondue

The highlight of the evening is the giant fondue organized in the Grande Rue of Poligny. Participants, seated at large tables, share a Comté fondue in a festive and convivial atmosphere. Places are limited and booking is mandatory to participate in this fondue that brings together locals and visitors around the emblematic dish of Franche-Comté gastronomy.

Dancing evening

After the fondue, the party continues with a dancing evening in the streets of the town center, extending this day of celebration of Comté and the Jura terroir late into the night.
