Theater, music, and dance festival in Fay-aux-Loges
Created in 2018 by the municipality of Fay-aux-Loges in collaboration with the Compagnie Clin d'œil, Fay'stival is a professional festival combining theater, music, dance, and circus arts. For four days, the heart of the village transforms into an open-air stage with about fifteen shows and activities for all audiences. Supported by over 50 volunteers and part of the cultural constellation project "Art between Loire and Countryside", the festival promotes access to culture in rural areas with a majority of free shows.
Since 2018, Fay'stival has established itself as a must-see cultural event in the Loiret region. Born from the initiative of the municipality of Fay-aux-Loges and the Compagnie Clin d'œil, this professional festival annually offers an eclectic program combining theater, music, dance, circus arts, and street performances in a rural and friendly setting.
Each edition brings together about fifteen shows and activities spread over four days, from Wednesday to Sunday. The program, designed for all ages, alternates between professional creations and festive moments: classical and contemporary theater, French chanson and world music concerts, hip-hop and contemporary dance, circus arts, shows for young audiences, and forum theater. The majority of performances are free and open access, in line with the festival's philosophy.
Fay'stival takes over several remarkable sites in the village: the esplanade of the Salle des Fêtes, the vibrant heart of the festival where you can eat and drink in the evening, the Usine électrique du canal d'Orléans (Orléans Canal Power Station), a heritage site converted into a performance venue, the berrichonne barge "Le Suave" moored on the canal, and the Halte du Canal. Shows are performed both indoors and outdoors, creating a unique atmosphere between river heritage and artistic creation.
Fay'stival is distinguished by its strong territorial roots. Over 50 volunteers, municipal agents, and technicians work to welcome spectators in the best conditions. The site is entirely decorated by the village residents, from kindergarten to the EHPAD (nursing home), making the festival a true collective project. As part of the "La Constellation culturelle – L'art entre Loire et Campagne" initiative, supported by the Centre-Val de Loire Region and the Loiret Department, Fay'stival irrigates a network of six municipalities committed to cultural democratization in rural areas.
Over the years, the festival has hosted leading artists such as Christophe Alévêque, Marie-Christine Barrault, Daniel and William Mesguich, and Vincent Roca, alongside emerging companies and local talents. This mix of established artists and discoveries forms the very identity of Fay'stival, true to the motto of its artistic director Gérard Audax: "Culture is not inherited, it is conquered."
The 8th edition of Fay'stival will be held from May 28 to 31, 2026, in the heart of Fay-aux-Loges. Four days of varied shows and activities with about fifteen proposals: theater, street performances, concerts, and circus. On the program: "Georges le Dragon," "Trouille de Trolls," Tector Cumbia (Colombian music), Adonis (Beninese singer), Musicomanie, and numerous shows for all audiences.
