Fertéfest: Pop Culture Arrives in Perche Sarthois
A unique event in the cultural landscape of Sarthe, Fertéfest was born from the desire to create a pop culture gathering in the charming medieval town of La Ferté-Bernard. This festival, held at the Centre Culturel Athéna, offers a total immersion into geek and pop universes: from specialized exhibitor stands to cosplay contests, K-Pop, retrogaming, and references to the legendary decades of the 80s and 90s.
A Multigenerational Festival
The strength of Fertéfest lies in its ability to bring all generations together around common passions. Children discover the world of cosplay and manga, teenagers groove to the rhythm of K-Pop, while adults nostalgically revisit the cultures of the 80s and 90s. Each visitor receives a three-euro voucher to spend with partner exhibitors, thus encouraging exchanges and discoveries among enthusiasts.
La Ferté-Bernard, a Medieval Setting for a Modern Festival
Nicknamed the "Venice of the West" for its canals and washhouses, La Ferté-Bernard offers a surprising and attractive setting for a pop culture festival. The Centre Culturel Athéna, a modern facility in the heart of the town, hosts exhibitors and activities in suitable spaces. Between festival aisles, visitors can stroll through the historic streets of the town, discover the Notre-Dame-des-Marais church, and enjoy local gastronomy.
Cosplay, K-Pop, and Festive Atmosphere
Fertéfest makes it a point of honor to celebrate the art of cosplay with contests open to all levels, from beginners to seasoned cosplayers. K-Pop fans will find a dedicated space with activities centered around this musical culture from South Korea. Exhibitors offer figurines, prints, handmade accessories, and original creations inspired by manga, comics, and video game universes. A festive and welcoming atmosphere prevails throughout the event, making Fertéfest a moment of sharing and celebration of popular cultures.
