The popular festival on the banks of the Meuse
Every year in mid-July, the village of Haybes, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Meuse,” comes alive to the rhythm of Fest'In Haybes. Set up on the banks of the Meuse, this popular festival has, for over twenty years, brought together the inhabitants of the commune and neighboring villages, as well as tourists passing through the Ardennes Meuse valley. The event embodies three fundamental values: conviviality, sharing, and authenticity. It is a special time when all generations gather to enjoy various activities, live music, and the beauty of the natural setting.
Concerts, torchlight procession, and fireworks
The Fest'In Haybes program unfolds over two intense days. On Saturday, open-air concerts begin in the late afternoon and continue into the evening, with local and regional bands setting the Meuse banks vibrating. The highlight of the evening is the fireworks display that lights up the sky above the river, casting a magical reflection on the water. On Sunday, the traditional torchlight procession parades through the village streets before another fireworks display followed by a popular ball that concludes the festivities with music and dancing.
A multi-generational and free event
One of Fest'In Haybes' strengths is its multi-generational nature. Activities are planned for both children and adults: games, food stalls offering local specialties and grilled items, refreshment stands, and of course, concerts that appeal to all ages. Entry is completely free, making the event accessible to everyone. Families flock to the riverbanks from the afternoon onwards, while the younger crowd extends the party until the early hours during the ball.
The Grande Tablée Hayboise
Among the weekend's highlights, the Grande Tablée Hayboise invites all participants to share a friendly outdoor meal on the riverbanks. Everyone brings their picnic and settles at long tables set up by the water. It's a moment of simple and warm sharing, typical of the village festival spirit that characterizes Fest'In Haybes. Musical entertainment accompanies this giant lunch, creating a joyful and relaxed atmosphere in the heart of the Ardennes summer.
Haybes, the Pearl of the Meuse
Haybes is a charming village nestled in a meander of the Meuse, between Fumay and Vireux-Molhain, in the north of the Ardennes department. Surrounded by forests and cliffs, it offers an exceptional natural setting conducive to hiking and outdoor activities. The Platale site, the trails of Roche à Fépin, and the developed banks of the Meuse make it a popular destination for nature lovers. Fest'In Haybes allows visitors to discover this natural heritage in a festive and popular atmosphere.
