About Festa di a Cultedda
The Festa di a Cultedda Corsa is the major annual festival dedicated to Corsican island cutlery. It takes place every year in August in Cuttoli-Corticchiato (Corse-du-Sud), the historic village of Corsican cutlers. Created in 2009 on the initiative of Ghjuvanni Biancucci, cutler and then mayor of Cuttoli-Corticchiato, it is organized by the Sindicatu di i Cultellaghji Corsi (Corsican Cutlers' Union) with the support of the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat de Corse and the ADEC.
The event brings together about forty professional cutlers established on the island for demonstrations of forging, bronze casting, horn shaping, and leather work, as well as exhibitions and sales of artisanal objects and knives stamped with the Corsican cutlers' charter.

The Festa di a Cultedda Corsa in Cuttoli-Corticchiato
The Festa di a Cultedda Corsa is the annual gathering for traditional Corsican cutlery. It takes place every summer, usually in August, in the village of Cuttoli-Corticchiato (Corse-du-Sud, 20167), considered the historic village of the island's cutlers.
A festival born in 2009 on the initiative of Corsican cutlers
Created in 2009 by Ghjuvanni Biancucci, cutler and then mayor of Cuttoli-Corticchiato, the Festa di a Cultedda is supported by the Sindicatu di i Cultellaghji Corsi (Corsican Cutlers' Union), with the support of the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat de Corse, the ADEC and the Corsican Collectivity.
It is part of the dynamic of structuring the Corsican cutlery sector: while in 1975 Corsica had no active cutlers, the sector has gradually reconstituted itself to now include about forty professionals established on the island, united around a charter and a label guaranteeing the origin and quality of Corsican knives.
Demonstrations, exhibitions and know-how
In the heart of the village, a fully reconstructed forge is set up to allow the public to follow live demonstrations: blade forging, bronze casting, horn shaping, leather work. Exhibitions of old tools and conferences on the history of the Corsican knife and island metallurgy complete the program.
The island's cutlers present and sell their creations at their stands, and a concert is usually held in the evening, accompanied by on-site catering.
