Swing, rock and boogie music and dance festival in Aurillac
Festi'Jump is a free music and dance festival dedicated to swing, rock, and boogie, organized every summer in Aurillac, Cantal. Created in 2005, this festive event offers four days of open-air concerts in the city center and at the Jardin des Carmes, accompanied by dance workshops led by nationally and internationally renowned instructors, in partnership with the Swing In Aurillac association.
Every summer, the city of Aurillac transforms into a giant dance floor for Festi'Jump, a free festival entirely dedicated to swing, rock'n'roll, and boogie-woogie. Since its creation in 2005, this unmissable event in Cantal has grown to become a major gathering for lovers of retro music and 1950s and 1960s dances.
The festival spans four days in July, transforming several squares and gardens in Aurillac into open-air stages. Each evening, two concerts are offered: the first at 7 PM in the city center (Place Gerbert, Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, or Place Baldeyrou) and the second at 9 PM at the Jardin des Carmes, a green setting in the heart of the city. The eclectic program mixes rock'n'roll, rhythm'n'blues, soul, country, blues, jazz, and swing, much to the delight of dancers and the public.
Beyond the concerts, Festi'Jump offers an essential educational component. In partnership with the Swing In Aurillac association, dance workshops are organized on weekends with nationally and internationally renowned instructors. On Saturday, classes run from 10 AM to 5:25 PM, and on Sunday from 9:30 AM to 1:25 PM. Free introductory sessions are also offered to allow everyone to try swing, rock, and boogie, regardless of their level.
Admission to all concerts is completely free, making Festi'Jump a resolutely popular and accessible event for everyone. The warm and festive atmosphere that reigns in the streets of Aurillac during the festival attracts an ever-increasing audience each year, combining seasoned dancers, families, and curious onlookers. The historic setting of the Cantal prefecture adds a special charm to these summer evenings where music resonates between the old facades.
The 21st edition, scheduled for July 2026, promises once again to make the Cantal capital vibrate to the sound of brass, guitars, and frenzied pianos.
