International animal and nature photography festival in Égletons
The Natura L'Oeil Festival is an international animal and nature photography festival organized annually from mid-June to mid-September in Égletons, Corrèze. Created by the association Égletons Photo Nature, this festival transforms Égletons' old town into an open-air photographic gallery, with over 200 large-format photos exhibited in the streets, squares, and walls of the historic center.
The heart of the festival consists of over 200 large-format photographs from an international competition organized beforehand by the association Égletons Photo Nature. This competition attracts photographers from around the world, who submit their finest images of wildlife, natural landscapes, biodiversity, and ecosystems. The selected and awarded photos are exhibited outdoors in the old town, offering a free visual journey accessible to all. The festival also features thematic and educational exhibitions at the Tourist Office and other cultural venues in Égletons.
In addition to the photographic exhibitions, the Natura L'Oeil Festival offers numerous activities throughout the summer: nature outings led by naturalists to discover the fauna and flora of Corrèze, guided tours of the outdoor exhibition with commentary on the photos and species represented, photography workshops for amateurs and children, and meetings with wildlife photographers. These educational and fun activities enrich the festival experience and raise public awareness about nature conservation.
Alongside the international festival, the association Égletons Photo Nature organizes the 100% Corrèze Challenge, a photographic competition dedicated to the biodiversity of Corrèze. The photos from this challenge are also exhibited outdoors in Égletons, reflecting the natural richness of the region. The theme for the 2026 100% Corrèze Challenge will be “Ambiences, landscapes, streets and alleys of Corrèze villages”, and it will take place from October 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026. This local dimension strengthens the festival's territorial roots and highlights the natural and landscape heritage of Corrèze.
The Natura L'Oeil Festival is organized by the association Égletons Photo Nature, which brings together amateur photographers and nature enthusiasts. The association works year-round to promote animal and nature photography, raise awareness about biodiversity, and organize this summer festival. Their volunteer commitment makes it possible to offer a free, high-quality event accessible to all audiences.
