Festi'Vagues: Music Comes to the Vendée Coast

Festi'Vagues is the major musical event of the summer in Saint-Jean-de-Monts, Vendée's premier seaside resort and one of the most popular on the French Atlantic coast. Since its creation, this contemporary music festival has enlivened the resort's summer nights with programming open to all musical genres: rock, pop, French chanson, electro, hip-hop, reggae, world music...

Held outdoors, in the heart of the resort or in the natural setting of the Jardin du Bon Pays, the festival benefits from an exceptional location, just a stone's throw from the vast sandy beaches that make Saint-Jean-de-Monts famous. Spectators can enjoy the show with their feet in the grass, to the sound of the Atlantic surf, in a relaxed atmosphere typical of coastal summer festivals.

Saint-Jean-de-Monts, a Musical Resort

Saint-Jean-de-Monts is more than just a holiday resort. With its 14 km of beach, its 7,000-hectare pine forest, and its lively seafront, it welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors every summer and is one of the driving forces of tourism in Vendée. The town has a real tradition of summer cultural entertainment, and Festi'Vagues is one of its highlights.

The festival helps enrich the resort's cultural offerings during the peak season, providing an alternative to the usual seaside entertainment and building loyalty among festival-goers of all ages, from holidaying families to local music lovers.

Eclectic and Ambitious Programming

Festi'Vagues' strength lies in its ability to book renowned artists alongside emerging local and regional bands. Each edition offers a varied musical panorama, with themed evenings that allow exploration of different sound worlds throughout the festival. The programming, put together by a passionate team, strives to reflect current musical trends while remaining accessible to the widest possible audience.

Among the artists who have performed on the Festi'Vagues stage are established names in French chanson and French rock, as well as emerging artists discovered on shows like The Voice or from the independent scene. Electronic nights and world music concerts complete a lineup resolutely open to contemporary musical diversity.

A Human-Sized Festival

Festi'Vagues deliberately cultivates a human scale that distinguishes it from large, high-attendance festivals. With capacity adapted to the site and careful organization, it offers a comfortable and friendly festival experience, where the public can get close to the artists, share moments of connection with the volunteers, and fully enjoy the music in a relaxed setting.

The organizing association, comprising residents passionate about music and cultural events, works year-round to prepare the festival. The associative and volunteer dimension is a core value of the project, fostering local roots and social connection through music.

A Highlight of the Vendée Summer

Festi'Vagues is part of a Vendée summer rich in cultural and festive events. Complementing the seafront entertainment, nautical festivals, and gastronomic events that punctuate the season, the festival adds a quality musical dimension to the tourist and cultural offerings of Saint-Jean-de-Monts. It contributes to the resort's reputation and the attractiveness of the Vendée region, confirming that Vendée is not just about its beaches but also possesses a real and dynamic cultural vitality.
