Rock'n'Beer: Vendée's Last Great Free Festival

Since 1996, the Rock'n'Beer Festival has enlivened the Parc des Morinières in Brétignolles-sur-Mer, in the heart of the Vendée coast, every summer. Created by the association Les Vieux Gars Actifs Brétignollais (V.G.A.B.), founded by three friends passionate about music in 1992, this festival has become one of the last entirely free music events in Vendée. Every last Saturday of July, it brings together nearly 2,000 festival-goers in a green setting for an evening of rock concerts, craft beers, and conviviality.

An Eclectic and Family-Friendly Rock Lineup

Rock'n'Beer's lineup is distinguished by its diversity and openness. The festival begins in the late afternoon with a concert for young audiences specially designed to introduce children to rock, before continuing with a series of three to four free concerts open to all. The musical styles cover a wide spectrum: from classic rock to ska-punk, including swing rock, electro groove, alternative rock, and metalcore. The festival showcases the emerging French scene and regional bands, offering a springboard for talented groups alongside more established names.

Craft Beers and Festive Spirit

True to its name, Rock'n'Beer places a central focus on craft beer. The festival bar offers a selection of quality beers, served in reusable eco-cups in partnership with Trivalis, demonstrating the event's environmental commitment. On-site catering complements the offerings, allowing festival-goers to enjoy a full evening without leaving the site. Profits generated by the bar and catering are entirely donated to local charitable organizations, notably the Restos du Cœur and the CCAS of Brétignolles-sur-Mer.
