About Face & Si
ℹ️ Festival discontinued. After 25 editions, the Face & Si Festival has bowed out: the last edition was held in September 2024, and the 2025 edition has been cancelled. The municipality of Mouilleron-le-Captif announced at the end of 2024 the end of its financial support for the event (subsidy not renewed), due to rising costs, soaring artist fees, and declining attendance. The festival no longer takes place in its historical format.
Born in 1998 in Mouilleron-le-Captif, the Face & Si Festival had become, over the editions, an unmissable event of the Vendée cultural back-to-school season. Every first weekend of September, the Parc de Beaupuy hosted more than twenty groups and artists in an eclectic program mixing contemporary music, French chanson, humor, and street arts. Supported by nearly 600 volunteers and 200 partners, this family-friendly and authentic festival brought together young and old in a 33-hectare green setting, just a stone's throw from La Roche-sur-Yon. At its peak, it gathered up to 20,000 festival-goers for a budget of around €650,000.
Face & Si — edition 2026
ℹ️ No 2026 edition: the festival has been discontinued. The Face & Si Festival is no longer held at the Parc de Beaupuy. The town of Mouilleron-le-Captif did not renew the €87,000 subsidy it previously provided to its Régie des 4 Saisons Culturelles, and the festival has come to an end after 25 editions, the last of which took place in September 2024. During the same period, the town now organizes Beaupuy en fête: two free days at the village of Beaupuy, on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th, 2026.
No 2026 edition
There will be no Face & Si Festival in September 2026. Its 25th and final edition was held in September 2024. In December 2024, the town of Mouilleron-le-Captif announced that it would not renew the €87,000 subsidy paid to its Régie des 4 Saisons Culturelles, which managed the festival, citing rising costs of 10 to 15%, increasing artist fees, and declining attendance. There will be no 26th edition.
What the town is organizing instead
As stated in the 2026 municipal bulletin: "After 25 editions of the Face & Si festival, we have chosen to offer the residents of Mouilleron a new format for back-to-school festivities: two entirely free days blending music, performances, activities, food, and community spirit." This event is called Beaupuy en fête. Co-organized with the Animation Mouilleron committee, it drew nearly 3,000 people for its first edition in September 2025 and returns on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th, 2026 at the village of Beaupuy, with free admission.

Face & Si, the Vendée's end-of-summer bash
The Face & Si Festival was born in 1998 in Mouilleron-le-Captif, created by and for the local community. Originally held at Les Étangs, it moved in 2014 to the Parc de Beaupuy, a 33-hectare site featuring meadows and woodlands surrounding a lake and an 1871 manor house.
The Lineup
Featuring contemporary music, French chanson, rock, variety acts, comedy, and street performance, each edition showcased over twenty bands across various stages. Over the years, the festival hosted stars such as Patrick Bruel, Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Louis Bertignac, 47ter, Boulevard des Airs, Hoshi, Gauvain Sers, Ridsa, and the Naïve New Beaters.
Three distinct areas
The Grand Chapiteau, a covered stage with a 4,000-person standing capacity, hosted headliners over two nights. The Petit Chapiteau, with its 600-person capacity, was dedicated to family-friendly shows and musical discoveries. The Village, an open-air and free-access area, brought together food and drink stalls, children's activities, wooden games, emerging artist stages, and DJ sets.
A festival powered by volunteers
Face & Si relied on nearly 600 volunteers and 200 public and private partners. At its peak, it drew 20,000 festival-goers to the Parc de Beaupuy with a budget of 650,000 €.
The end of the festival and what comes next
The 25th edition in September 2024 was its last. In December 2024, the town of Mouilleron-le-Captif announced it would no longer renew the 87,000 € subsidy granted to the Régie des 4 Saisons Culturelles, which managed the event, citing rising costs of 10 to 15%, increasing artist fees, and declining attendance. There will be no 26th edition.
The town has since organized a new back-to-school event, Beaupuy en fête, set up with the Animation Mouilleron committee: two free days at the village of Beaupuy, which drew nearly 3,000 people for its first edition in September 2025. The second edition takes place on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th, 2026.
