Festival Au Rythme des Fifties

A retro festival in the heart of Lot-et-Garonne

Created in 2013, the Festival Au Rythme des Fifties is a unique event in Lot-et-Garonne that celebrates 1950s culture in all its forms. Supported by the association Boulevard Fifties, this festival takes place annually at the Sangruère racecourse, a green and shaded site located on the outskirts of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, offering an ideal setting for this dive into the American fifties.

Three days of rock'n'roll and rockabilly

For three days, the festival hosts rock'n'roll and rockabilly bands on stage, offering concerts included in the entrance fee. The program highlights the authentic sounds of the 1950s, from original rock'n'roll to rockabilly and country rock. During the first edition in 2013, the audience was able to discover bands such as Raffi Arto, The Spunny Boys, Earl The Hight Tones, Smooth and the Bully Boys, Brooklyn Barmen, Ruby Ann, The Blood Teds, and The Frantic Rollers.

Gathering of American vehicles

Beyond the music, the festival is also a large gathering of American vehicles. Enthusiasts come to exhibit their US cars, hot-rods, customs, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. A parade of these iconic vehicles (cruising) is organized, offering a visual and auditory spectacle that delights lovers of beautiful American mechanics.

Fifties entertainment and contests

The Festival Au Rythme des Fifties offers a variety of entertainment that immerses the public in the atmosphere of the 1950s:

• Miss and Mister Fifties Election: a costume contest showcasing the fashion of the era
• Pin-up Parade: a tribute to the female icons of the fifties
• Boogie and Rock'n'Roll Demonstrations: experienced dancers introduce the iconic dances of the era
• Bike Show: exhibition and contest of customized motorcycles
• Stands and Exhibitors: vintage clothing, retro accessories, vinyl records, and collectibles

A shaded and friendly park

The Sangruère racecourse offers a vast shaded park, particularly pleasant during the summer. The site has a free camping area allowing festival-goers to fully enjoy the three days of festivities. Food stalls and a bar ensure a friendly atmosphere throughout the event.

An accessible price for everyone

True to its popular spirit, the festival offers an entrance fee of €5 per person per day, including concerts. Admission is free for children under 16, people with reduced mobility, and owners of motorcycles and US cars. This generous pricing policy contributes to the family-friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the event.
