Rock'n'Roll and Rockabilly Festival in Villeneuve-sur-Lot
The Festival Au Rythme des Fifties is an event dedicated to the 1950s culture organized by the association Boulevard Fifties at the Sangruère racecourse in Villeneuve-sur-Lot. For over a decade, this festive gathering has offered three days of rock'n'roll and rockabilly concerts, a gathering of American vehicles, hot-rods, customs, and Harley-Davidsons, Miss and Mister Fifties elections, pin-up parades, and boogie and rock'n'roll demonstrations, all in a retro and friendly atmosphere.
Created in 2013, the Festival Au Rythme des Fifties is a unique event in Lot-et-Garonne that celebrates 1950s culture in all its forms. Supported by the association Boulevard Fifties, this festival takes place annually at the Sangruère racecourse, a green and shaded site located on the outskirts of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, offering an ideal setting for this dive into the American fifties.
For three days, the festival hosts rock'n'roll and rockabilly bands on stage, offering concerts included in the entrance fee. The program highlights the authentic sounds of the 1950s, from original rock'n'roll to rockabilly and country rock. During the first edition in 2013, the audience was able to discover bands such as Raffi Arto, The Spunny Boys, Earl The Hight Tones, Smooth and the Bully Boys, Brooklyn Barmen, Ruby Ann, The Blood Teds, and The Frantic Rollers.
Beyond the music, the festival is also a large gathering of American vehicles. Enthusiasts come to exhibit their US cars, hot-rods, customs, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. A parade of these iconic vehicles (cruising) is organized, offering a visual and auditory spectacle that delights lovers of beautiful American mechanics.
