Free European progressive music festival in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer
Since 1999, the Crescendo Festival has been one of the most important progressive music festivals in Europe. Entirely free and organized by volunteers, it offers three days of concerts at the end of August on the Esplanade du Concié facing the sea, mixing progressive rock, progressive metal, psychedelic rock, classical music, and jazz fusion in front of 3,000 to 4,000 spectators per evening.
Created in 1999, the Festival Crescendo has become a global reference for progressive music lovers. Every year at the end of August, the Esplanade du Concié in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer hosts three days of entirely free concerts, attracting between 3,000 and 4,000 spectators per evening.
The festival explores all styles of progressive music: from traditional progressive rock to that of the new generation, including fiery riffs, classical music, instrumental, jazz fusion, and zeuhl. The program mixes artists from the national and international scene, offering a true exploration of the boundaries of progressive music.
Managed by an association and largely run by volunteers, the Crescendo Festival remains entirely free. This philosophy makes this demanding and creative music accessible to all, while maintaining exceptional artistic quality recognized throughout Europe.
