Festival Dansité

A festival dedicated to emerging choreographic creation

Created in 2022 by the Laboratoire Chorégraphique de Reims under the artistic direction of Aurore Gruel, the Festival Dansité has quickly established itself as a must-attend event for emerging dance in Champagne. The festival offers "highlights, moments of encounter between works, creations, and the public," exploring different ways of experiencing dance: stage spaces, non-dedicated spaces, participatory creations, and choreographic installations.

The Laboratoire Chorégraphique, a driver of creation

The Laboratoire Chorégraphique de Reims, located at the Chapelle Saint-Marcoul since 2002, supports and promotes emerging choreographic creation in all its forms. A true "space for experiences, possibilities, emergences, and outreach," it hosts companies and artists in residence, offering them a space for work, research, and creation. Under the artistic direction of Aurore Gruel, a dancer-choreographer recognized for her indisciplinary approach to movement, the laboratory organizes two to three Dansité events per season.

A partnership with Le Manège, Scène Nationale

The Festival Dansité benefits from a privileged partnership with Le Manège, Scène Nationale de Reims, which hosts the performances in its spaces: the Théâtre du Manège, the Cirque du Manège, and the Parc de la Patte d'oie. This partnership provides national visibility to the young choreographers supported by the laboratory and offers the public in Reims a demanding and diverse program.

An audacious and plural program

Each edition of Dansité offers a choreographic journey through several venues, mixing contemporary dance, hip-hop, urban dance, world traditions, and hybrid forms. The festival highlights recent creations and premieres, fostering the discovery of new talents and choreographic writing. The performances, often presented in the early evening, follow one another in an artistic procession where the public is invited to have an immersive and participatory experience.
