Jazz in all its forms

Since 2012, the Reims Sunnyside Festival has been making the 'Cité des Sacres' vibrate every autumn to the rhythm of jazz and Afro-American music. Created by the cultural cooperative Jazzus (a SCOP founded in 2012), the festival has established itself as a pillar of Reims' cultural life and a must-attend event for jazz lovers in the Grand Est region. The programming explores all facets of Afro-American music: traditional and contemporary jazz, soul, funk, blues, hip-hop, and free improvisation.

Emblematic venues of Reims

The festival takes over the most prestigious cultural venues in Reims: the Opéra de Reims, La Cartonnerie, the Atelier de la Comédie, the Médiathèque Jean Falala, Le Shed, and the Arena. This diversity of venues allows for various formats, from intimate concerts to grand shows, including jam sessions and free events in public spaces.

Strong values

The Sunnyside Festival upholds strong values: musical diversity and openness, intergenerational cultural transmission, accessibility and inclusion, and support for emerging artists. The Sunnykids program, which reaches over 1,000 children each year, demonstrates the festival's commitment to cultural mediation and transmission. The festival is also committed to an eco-responsible approach.

A growing festival

Over the years, the Sunnyside Festival has built a loyal and growing audience, while attracting internationally renowned artists. The festival actively contributes to the cultural influence of Reims and the Grand Est region by offering bold programming that constantly renews the experience of jazz and improvised music.
