FINA: Nature in Images in the Heart of Haut-Jura
The FINA – Inter'Nature Festival of Haut-Jura is a festival dedicated to nature imagery that has established itself in a few editions as a major event for naturalist photography and art in the Jura region. Every April, the town of Saint-Claude, the capital of Haut-Jura, hosts this festival which celebrates the beauty and diversity of the natural world through various artistic forms.
A Program of Exhibitions, Films, and Conferences
FINA offers a rich and diverse program structured around several axes:
- Photographic Exhibitions: Renowned nature photographers present their works in thematic exhibitions dedicated to wildlife, flora, and natural landscapes.
- Artistic Exhibitions: Visual artists offer their vision of nature through painting, sculpture, and other mediums.
- Documentary Films: Screening of nature documentaries on the big screen, opening windows onto ecosystems around the world.
- Conferences and Meetings: Naturalists, scientists, and photographers share their knowledge and experiences.
- Nature Activities: Field trips, workshops, and events related to the Haut-Jura environment.
Saint-Claude: An Exceptional Natural Setting
Saint-Claude, nestled in a deep valley at the confluence of the Tacon and the Bienne rivers, offers an ideal setting for a festival dedicated to nature. The town is surrounded by forests, waterfalls, and spectacular gorges, in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park. This exceptional geographical location allows festival visitors to combine the discovery of exhibitions with excursions into preserved nature.
The Palais des Sports: The Festival's Central Venue
The festival primarily takes place at the Palais des Sports in Saint-Claude, a versatile space that hosts the various exhibitions and screenings in a suitable environment. A catering and social area is set up on-site, with meals prepared by the ÉSAT of Saint-Claude.
A Growing Festival
Since its creation in 2022, FINA has continuously grown and established itself as a benchmark event in the landscape of nature festivals in France. The 4th edition in 2025 and the 5th edition planned for 2026 demonstrate the vitality of this festival, which contributes to the cultural and tourist influence of the Haut-Jura.
