The meeting place for excellent terroirs in Pays d'Auge
Created in 1995, the Festival des AOC-AOP de Cambremer celebrates Norman appellation products every year. Located in the heart of Pays d'Auge, Cambremer proudly produces 7 of the 15 Norman AOC-AOPs: cheeses, cider, pommeau, calvados, and Isigny cream. The festival has become a must-attend event for lovers of gastronomy and local produce, attracting thousands of visitors every first weekend of May.
The festival brings together the best Norman producers around the Place de la Mairie in Cambremer. Visitors discover and taste AOP Norman cheeses (Camembert, Pont-l'Évêque, Livarot, Neufchâtel), cider, pommeau, calvados, Isigny cream, and quality meats. A tasting glass is given to each visitor for a 2 EUR deposit.
The Cambremer cider competition is a highlight of the festival, rewarding the best ciders and cider products in the region. Meet the producers, activities for children and families, and a festive and friendly atmosphere mark the two days of festivities. Six catering points, including food trucks and crêperies, are available to visitors.
The festival is part of a responsible event approach, with attention paid to transport, catering, and visitor reception. Free and secure parking is managed by local volunteer associations, and bicycle parking is also available.
The 31st edition of the Cambremer AOC-AOP Festival took place on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2026 on the Place de la Mairie, with Italy as guest of honor. Under the patronage of chef Lilian Douchet (Top Chef 2022 candidate), some fifty AOC/AOP producers and artisans showcased Norman and Italian terroirs: cheeses, ciders, calvados, cured meats, olive oils, and wines. This edition also marked the 30th anniversary of the AOC Cidre Pays d'Auge and the 40th anniversary of the AOC Beurre and Crème d'Isigny.
The Cambremer AOC-AOP Festival celebrated its 31st edition on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2026 on the Place de la Mairie in Cambremer. Around fifty stands of AOC/AOP producers and artisans welcomed visitors with excellent products from Pays d'Auge and, this year, Italian specialties.
For this 31st edition, the festival honored Italy and its gastronomic expertise: Italian cheeses, cured meats, olive oils, and wines joined Norman AOP cheeses (Camembert, Pont-l'Évêque, Livarot, Neufchâtel), cider, pommeau, calvados, and Isigny cream. A dedicated marquee gathered 9 stands and 24 Italian AOC/IGP products.
Chef Lilian Douchet, a notable candidate from Top Chef 2022, sponsored this edition. He shared his passion and talent throughout the weekend through culinary shows and meetings with the public.
The 2026 edition celebrated several significant anniversaries for Norman appellations: 30 years of AOC Cidre Pays d'Auge, 40 years of AOC Beurre and Crème d'Isigny, as well as 40 years of twinning between Calvados and Lower Franconia (Bavaria), with the presence of winemaker Anja Stritzinger and her award-winning Franconian wines.
On the weekend's program: regional cider competition, culinary shows, musical entertainment, gourmet hikes, parent/child culinary workshops (new for 2026), educational activities, and on-site catering with food trucks and crêperies. The Calvados Departmental Hiking Committee (CDRP 14) offered two hikes starting from Cambremer: 15 km on Saturday and 9.5 km on Sunday (departure 10 am, 3 € for non-FFRandonnée licensees, packed lunch).
