Book fair bringing together 40 authors at the Baillage of Chaumont-en-Vexin
The Festival Livre en Fête de Chaumont-en-Vexin, also known as the Chaumont-en-Vexin Book Fair, is an annual literary event organized in May at the Baillage (Lucien Pissarro exhibition halls). For over 25 years, this fair has hosted around forty authors for signing sessions, meetings, and discussions about books. Novels, local literature, thrillers, poetry, children's literature, and comics are represented. Workshops, activities, and conferences complete the program.
For more than a quarter of a century, Chaumont-en-Vexin, a charming town in the French Vexin region of the Oise department, has hosted its Book Fair. This literary event, organized by the Office de la Culture de Chaumont-en-Vexin, has become a must-attend event for book and reading lovers in the department.
Each edition brings together around forty authors to present and sign their works. The diversity of literary genres represented ensures that every visitor can find something to their liking:
The heart of the fair consists of signing sessions and meetings between authors and readers. These privileged exchange moments allow visitors to discover the behind-the-scenes of writing, ask authors questions, and leave with a personalized book. The friendly and warm atmosphere of the fair fosters authentic and enriching exchanges.
Beyond signings, the Book Fair offers an activity program for all ages:
The fair is held at the Baillage, in the Lucien Pissarro exhibition halls, located on Place du Vieux-Marché in the heart of Chaumont-en-Vexin. This heritage site, named in honor of the Impressionist painter, son of Camille Pissarro, who lived in the region, offers a pleasant and bright setting to welcome authors and visitors.
The Chaumont-en-Vexin Book Fair is part of the cultural life of the French Vexin, a distinctive territory between the Oise and Val-d'Oise departments. It promotes local authors while welcoming nationally renowned writers, contributing to the literary influence of this northwestern part of the Oise.
The 29th Chaumont-en-Vexin Book Fair is expected in May 2026 at the Baillage with authors, signings, and literary activities.
