Lyrical art leaves the opera house
The Festival Lyrik is born from a simple and strong conviction: lyrical singing is not reserved for large opera houses or initiated audiences. Driven by the Brest-based association La Ronde Bleue, this traveling festival dares to bring vocal art to unusual and unexpected places in Finistère. A Romanesque chapel, a historic castle, an Irish pub, a climbing gym, the Ateliers des Capucins in Brest: so many improbable stages where the lyrical voice resonates with new power, creating a rare intimacy between artists and the public.
A musical journey through Finistère
Spread over several weeks, Festival Lyrik offers a true musical journey through the department. Each week offers a new theme, a new location, and new artists. The festival explores the richness of the vocal repertoire in all its dimensions: opera, baroque music, sacred music, romantic melodies, and contemporary creations. The ensembles range from solo recitals to instrumental trios, including shows combining lyrical singing, puppetry, and clowning, or even lyrical voice and breakdancing.
Passionate artists and unique encounters
Festival Lyrik showcases passionate artists who share the same desire to bring lyrical art to life off the beaten track. Among the invited ensembles are groups like La Ronde des Landolfi, performing Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, the Arcomelo trio blending lyrical voice and strings in the repertoire of Corelli and Vivaldi, the Celestine trio with opera arias on piano, or the Duo Erzulie (double bass and voice) collaborating with a breakdance collective. Each concert is an opportunity for informal exchanges between artists and the public, in an atmosphere of closeness and conviviality.
Accessibility and solidarity pricing
One of Festival Lyrik's fundamental commitments is accessibility. Prices are designed so that everyone can enjoy the concerts: a reduced price of 10 euros is offered to job seekers, large families, students, those under 26, and festival partners. A 'suspended ticket' option for 10 euros allows a concert to be offered to someone who cannot afford to attend. A solidarity price of an additional 5 euros is offered as a donation to the association La Ronde Bleue. Tickets are also available on-site, subject to availability.
A festival for all generations
Festival Lyrik is for all generations. Shows combining puppetry and lyrical art appeal to younger audiences, while intimate recitals and sacred music concerts in chapels delight seasoned music lovers. The short formats and unusual locations attract a curious audience, sometimes new to the genre, who discover the emotional power of the lyrical voice in an unexpected setting. The festival proves that opera and classical singing can touch, surprise, and move well beyond the traditional audience.
