The Festival Musiques du Monde in Peyrehorade is a unique cultural event in the festival landscape of the Landes region. Organized by the association Thalica, it offers a borderless musical journey, combining concerts, workshops, and philosophical debates in the small town of Pays d'Orthe.
The association Thalica was founded by Sangitananda, an internationally renowned yogi and musician, with the mission to promote music, philosophy, and yoga as vectors of well-being and self-realization. The Festival Musiques du Monde is the association's annual highlight, bringing together artists, thinkers, and the public around values of sharing, openness, and international solidarity.
The festival offers a rich and varied musical program, drawing from the musical traditions of the entire world. Flamenco, Turkish music, jazz, Indian music, African music, and many other genres share the stage in Peyrehorade. Each edition brings together international and local artists for concerts that celebrate cultural diversity and musical fusion.
Beyond the concerts, the festival stands out for its participatory workshops open to all. Singing, dance, yoga, and meditation sessions allow festival-goers to have an immersive and holistic experience. Philosophical debates and discussions on ecology and living together complete a program that nourishes both body and mind.
The festival was born from the initiative of Peyrehorade residents—Sangitananda, Antoine Boyer, Yeore Kim, and Jessica Patrac—who identified the town's potential to host ambitious cultural projects. The Festival Musiques du Monde contributes to the cultural influence of Peyrehorade and the Pays d'Orthe, attracting an audience from across the department and beyond.

Concerts are held outdoors in the center's courtyard, offering a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. In case of bad weather, events are moved to the covered halls of the socio-cultural center.
