About Paratge
A Living Occitan Culture Open to the World
The Paratge d'Oc & d'ailleurs festival was born from the desire of the Dordogne-Périgord Departmental Cultural Agency to promote a living and contemporary Occitan culture, open to other world cultures. The term 'Paratge', inherited from the troubadours, carries values of humanity, respect for differences, and gender equality.
A Rich and Varied Program
The program combines music, dance, theater, storytelling, and participatory workshops centered around the Occitan language and culture, while also welcoming artists from other cultural backgrounds. The performances take place outdoors in the medieval setting of Bourdeilles, at the foot of its castle and in the village streets.
A Free and Friendly Event
The festival is free and open to all. On-site catering allows visitors to extend their day in a friendly atmosphere. The event is supported by the municipality of Bourdeilles, the festival committee, and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region.
Paratge — edition 2026
The Festival Paratge d'Oc & d'ailleurs returns to Bourdeilles on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 2 PM to midnight, within the medieval setting of the castle. A grand day of live performances centered around Occitan culture and world cultures. After East Africa in 2024, then Colombia and Anatolia in 2025, the 2026 edition sets out to meet the cultures of the Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia), for an unprecedented dialogue between Occitania and the Atlas. Free entry.
2026 Edition — Occitania and Maghreb Cultures
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Festival Paratge d'Oc & d'ailleurs takes over Bourdeilles Castle and the village's Promenades for a day and evening of live performances. Organized by the Agence culturelle départementale Dordogne-Périgord with the support of the commune and the Bourdeilles festival committee, this edition brings Occitan culture into dialogue with Maghreb cultures, following East Africa (2024) and Colombia / Anatolia (2025).
On the program: conference, concerts, dances, and brass bands, from the castle's upper hall to the Promenades stage, with artists such as Super Parquet, Zar Electrik, Ammar 808, and Gloria Maud Herrera. Admission is free and food is available on site.

- 2:30 PM – 3:20 PM — Conference by Miquéla Stenta on Occitan culture
- 3:30 PM – 4:20 PM — "A Troubadour in the Orient", concert by Hareth Mhedi (oud) & Sylvain Roux
Castle — Grand Courtyard
- 4:40 PM – 5:20 PM — Concert by Gloria Maud Herrera and presentation of workshops
- 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM — Performances by UOCC and Les Zinzonaires
Les Promenades (doors open 6 PM)
- 6:30 PM — Conservatory Brass Band (Vent Debout)
- 6:50 PM — Folk dance with Diatocello and Dansons l'Europe
- 8:00 PM — Dance & Bagpipe Show: Alban Richard (choreography) & Erwan Keravec (bagpipes)
- 8:40 PM — Concert by Super Parquet (Occitan psychedelic music)
- 10:00 PM — Concert by Zar Electrik (Gnawa fusion and Sub-Saharan sounds)
- 11:10 PM — Concert by Ammar 808 (Tunisian electro)
