The Festival Perché is a unique artistic festival that takes place every summer in Villard-Reculas, a village perched at 1,500 meters above sea level in the alpine pastures of Oisans, in the heart of the Isère department. Led by L'Autre Cie, this festival offers a collective, poetic, and itinerant experience centered around storytelling, music, and dance.
A Mountain Storytelling Festival
Storytelling is at the heart of the Festival Perché's program. Renowned storytellers, such as Bruno Mallet, lead multi-day workshops on the art of narrative, open to children aged 8 and up, as well as adults. These immersive workshops allow participants to discover or deepen their storytelling practice in an exceptional natural setting, where the mountains become a source of inspiration and creativity.
Traveling Performances and Creations
Beyond the workshops, the Festival Perché offers traveling performances and creations in the surrounding alpine pastures. The artists from L'Autre Cie invite spectators to share a collective and poetic experience, walking and stopping along the landscapes to attend performances combining storytelling, music, and dance. This mountain itinerary gives the festival a unique character, blending cultural hiking with live performance.
Villard-Reculas: A Perched Village
Villard-Reculas is a small mountain village located on a sunny balcony facing the Meije and the peaks of Oisans. Accessible from Bourg-d'Oisans or from the Alpe d'Huez resort, this authentic village offers an exceptional panorama of the surrounding massifs. The festival derives its name from this "perched" geographical location, making it a special place for artistic creation.

Festival Perché — edition 2026
The Festival Perché returns to Villard-Reculas from July 25 to 29, 2026, for a new edition of its "Collective Itinerant Poetics" in the Oisans alpine pastures, at an altitude of over 1,500 meters. Organized by L'Autre Cie, the festival offers storytelling, music, and dance throughout the village and mountain trails, under the stars or in the early morning. A three-day storytelling workshop led by storyteller Bruno Mallet is also offered to children aged 8 and over.
Festival Perché 2026 — July 25 to 29 in Villard-Reculas
From Saturday, July 25 to Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the artists of L'Autre Cie (storytelling, music, dance) invite the public to share an experience of "Collective Itinerant Poetics" in the heart of the perched village of Villard-Reculas, in Oisans. Surprise shows, wanderings, and performances punctuate these days at various points in the village, under the stars as well as in the early morning.
Storytelling workshop for children (July 26 to 28)
From Thursday, July 26 to Saturday, July 28, a three-day storytelling workshop is led by Bruno Mallet, one of the key figures in the revival of storytelling in Normandy, who introduces young enthusiasts (aged 8 and over) to the art of storytelling.

Location
The festival takes place in Villard-Reculas, a village perched at 1,500 meters above sea level in Oisans, as well as in the surrounding alpine pastures.
Access
By Car
From Grenoble, take the direction of Bourg-d'Oisans via RD 1091 (approx. 1 hour). From Bourg-d'Oisans, follow the direction of Villard-Reculas via a winding mountain road (approx. 15 minutes). The village is also accessible from the Alpe d'Huez resort.
By Public Transport
TransIsère buses connect Grenoble to Bourg-d'Oisans. From Bourg-d'Oisans, inquire about shuttle services to Villard-Reculas during the summer season.

The festival generally takes place in late July, over several days. The precise dates and program are announced each year on the official website.
Workshops
The storytelling workshops last for 3 days and are open to children aged 8 and up. Registration is required. Check the festival's website for registration details and prices.
