Pies Pala Pop Festival
The Pies Pala Pop Festival is a pop-rock-indie festival organized annually in June by the Rennes-based association Des Pies Chicaillent at Jardin Moderne, in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). Created in 2022, 2026 marks its 5th edition.
A Human-Scale Festival
Over two evenings, Pies Pala Pop offers about ten concerts by French and international artists as well as DJ sets, in a green outdoor setting with covered areas. With approximately 1,000 festival-goers spread over the weekend, the event boasts a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere, centered around a sheltered outdoor stage.
An Eclectic Independent Scene
The festival aims to be an alternative to large standardized festivals and champions a handcrafted and passionate approach to the independent scene: pop, indie pop, post-punk, krautrock, art-pop, synth pop, jangle noisy pop, electro indus… The program is resolutely international, featuring bands from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Australia, or Ireland alongside French artists.
Jardin Moderne
The Pies Pala Pop Festival takes place at Jardin Moderne, a venue in Rennes dedicated to contemporary music located at 11 rue du Manoir de Servigné, in the western district of Rennes. The site features an outdoor stage under a marquee, catering areas, and is easily accessible by bike (cycle path towards Le Rheu/Vezin-le-Coquet) or by bus (line 11, Jardin Moderne stop).

The Des Pies Chicaillent association pays particular attention to welcome, inclusivity, and respect within the festival, notably with a listening and reporting system.

Pies Pala Pop Festival 2026 — 5th Edition
The 5th edition of the Pies Pala Pop Festival takes place on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 7 PM to 1 AM, at Jardin Moderne in Rennes. True to its motto of a «human-sized festival» (approximately 1,000 festival-goers over the two days), the event brings together a dozen bands and DJs from all over Europe and beyond, to showcase the independent pop-rock scene around a covered outdoor stage.
An Indie and International Lineup
The 2026 edition blends electro-industrial, art-pop, indie pop, post-punk, krautrock, and art punk, with artists from Spain, Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria, and France. The 2026 poster was designed by Nathalie Bihan, a graphic designer and risograph artist based in Brest.
A Craft and Passionate Festival
Driven by the association Des Pies Chicaillent, Pies Pala Pop advocates a craft and passionate approach to independent music, far from the usual logic of large festivals. The event aims to be a space for discoveries, pop-rock fervor, and conviviality.

Online ticketing via Billetweb. Preferential rates for Jardin Moderne subscribers, 10-14 year olds, and beneficiaries of the Sortir! scheme. Free for children under 10 (with reservation). Pass Culture accepted for 15-17 year olds. €3 surcharge on site.
