The multidisciplinary festival celebrating love in Romans-sur-Isère
Since 2025, Romans-sur-Isère — whose name already evokes love stories — has hosted the Festival Romans d'Amour every winter, a multidisciplinary event celebrating love in all its forms. For three weeks, from late January to early February, the city transforms into the capital of love with a rich and varied cultural program, free and open to all.
The Festival Romans d'Amour presents an eclectic program exploring the theme of love through all the arts. On the agenda: a Love Expo Fair bringing together romance novel authors, artists, and creators; love film screenings at Cinéma Lumière; poetic and musical recitals; writing workshops to express feelings; communication workshops for couples; dance and theater performances; and a grand final concert that closes the festival in a festive and warm atmosphere.
The festival takes over the iconic venues of Romans-sur-Isère: Salle Charles Michels hosts the Love Expo Fair, Villa Pagnon opens its doors for intimate encounters, Cité de la Musique resonates with concerts and recitals, and Cinéma Lumière screens love films. Espace Haute Herbasse hosts the grand closing concert. This diversity of venues allows festival-goers to experience the event according to their desires and discover the different facets of the city.
By choosing to celebrate love — romantic love, family love, friendship, love of music, literature, art — the Festival Romans d'Amour touches on the universal. Each edition is built around a unifying theme: "Living Together" for the second edition in 2026, inviting participants to connect and share emotions through culture and human encounters.
Access to the Festival Romans d'Amour is completely free, reflecting the City of Romans-sur-Isère's commitment to offering a cultural event accessible to everyone. This winter festival helps to liven up the city during the cold season, creating a time of human warmth and cultural sharing in the heart of the Drôme winter. In two editions, Romans d'Amour has already established itself as an anticipated event by residents and visitors.
The 2nd edition of the Festival Romans d'Amour unfolds from January 22 to February 7, 2026, on the theme "Living Together". Three weeks of free programming in the iconic venues of Romans-sur-Isère:
