The unmissable Cuban salsa event in Limousin
Organized by the association EnDanse for over twenty years, the Festival Salsa Carnaval de Limoges celebrates the richness of Latin-Caribbean music and dances every year at the CCM John Lennon. For an intensive weekend, dancers of all levels and Cuban rhythm enthusiasts gather for choreographic shows, a costume concert, workshops led by international artists, and wild dance parties until the early hours of the morning.
Since its creation in 2004, the Festival Salsa Carnaval de Limoges has become the flagship event for lovers of Cuban salsa and Latin dances in the entire west-central region of France. Supported by the association EnDanse, specializing in the promotion of Afro-Cuban culture, this event brings together several hundred enthusiasts every year at the CCM John Lennon, in the Feytiat district of Limoges.
The festival unfolds over a full weekend structured around three highlights. Friday evening kicks off the festivities with a show night featuring a dozen performances by international artists and local companies, blending salsa, bachata, kizomba, and Afro-Cuban dance. Saturday evening, the festival's main event, offers a grand costume concert with a live Cuban orchestra followed by a DJ party. Sunday concludes the festivities with a 'survivors' party at the partner hotel's restaurant.
Beyond the parties, the festival offers over 26 hours of workshops spread across four rooms over two days, led by internationally renowned dancers and choreographers. The classes cover Cuban salsa, rumba, son, reggaeton, bachata, and Afro-Cuban percussion, with levels ranging from beginner to advanced. It's a unique opportunity to progress rapidly under the guidance of Latin dance masters.
With over twenty editions to its name, the Salsa Carnaval Festival has established itself as a pillar of Limoges' cultural life. It attracts participants from all over France and abroad, contributing to the influence of the Limousin capital. The EnDanse association also offers salsa classes throughout the year, making Limoges a true hub for Latin dance in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The 2026 edition hosts the legendary Isaac Delgado and his 15 musicians for an exceptional concert on Saturday evening, a show night on Friday with 12 to 14 performances, and 27 hours of dance workshops over two days.
The Festival Salsa Carnaval returns on March 13, 14, and 15, 2026, at the CCM John Lennon with an exceptional lineup. Friday evening will feature 12 to 14 performances by international artists and local associations centered around Cuban salsa, followed by a DJ set by Rafi and Timbaleaks until 2:30 AM. On Saturday, the headliner Isaac Delgado and his orchestra of 15 musicians will electrify the stage for nearly two hours of live Cuban music during the costume party, followed by DJs El Loco and La Tremenda.
