Shows, concerts and entertainment under a circus tent
Created in 2022 by the JASPIR association (Youth Animation and Shows to Invest the Street), the Zéphyr Festival is a festive and popular event held annually under a circus tent in Saint-Jean-de-Bournay, in Isère. For a weekend, live shows, eclectic concerts, fairground entertainment and discovery workshops are combined to offer a moment of intergenerational sharing. The festival takes its name from the zephyr, that gentle, light wind that heralds spring, and embodies an ephemeral artistic bubble in the heart of the Isère rural area.
The Zéphyr Festival is a multidisciplinary cultural event that unfolds each year under a circus tent set up in Saint-Jean-de-Bournay, in the Isère department. Born in 2022 from the desire of the JASPIR association (Youth Animation and Shows to Invest the Street) to celebrate the arrival of good weather, the festival offers a weekend of festivities mixing concerts, street performances, circus arts, fairground entertainment and participatory workshops for all ages.
The JASPIR association, founded in 2002 by four friends from Saint-Jean-de-Bournay, has been working for over twenty years for cultural and artistic development in rural areas. Based at La Fabrique Jaspir, a creation and dissemination venue located at 178 impasse du Pré de la Barre, the association has developed recognized expertise over the years in organizing live performances, artistic production, and supporting emerging artists through its label, Label 440.
The Zéphyr Festival is the natural culmination of this commitment: a unifying event designed as an ephemeral artistic bubble, located as close as possible to the inhabitants to reach audiences far from traditional cultural offerings. The name “Zéphyr”, inspired by this gentle, light wind that announces spring, perfectly embodies the spirit of the festival: a poetic and festive interlude, open to everyone.
Each edition of the Zéphyr Festival is structured around three highlights spread over a full weekend:
The strength of the Zéphyr Festival lies in the diversity of its program. World music concerts, afro-funk, festive French songs, electro and groove DJ sets rub shoulders with contemporary clown shows, street theater, and circus performances. The festival makes it a point of honor to program both nationally renowned artists and emerging companies, thus offering a valuable showcase for living artistic creation.
True to JASPIR's values, the Zéphyr Festival practices a solidarity-based pricing policy: site access is free, and shows operate on a pay-what-you-want basis, with everyone paying according to their means and desires. This approach guarantees the festival's accessibility to all audiences, without financial barriers.
Located at the rugby stadium in Saint-Jean-de-Bournay, the Zéphyr Festival transforms this sports space into a true festive village for a weekend. The fifth edition of the Zéphyr Festival will take place from June 12 to 14, 2026 in Saint-Jean-de-Bournay under the circus tent. The program includes a concert evening on Friday with Les Yeux d'la Tête and Vaudou Game, Clown Night on Saturday with Quarantaine by Véronique Tuaillon, and a family Sunday with Plastic Boum Boum by Cie Du Turfu, L'Ourse by Cie In(c)lassable, and La Plaine des Jeux.
The Zéphyr Festival returns for its fifth edition from June 12 to 14, 2026, still under its circus tent set up at the rugby stadium in Saint-Jean-de-Bournay. For this anniversary, the JASPIR association has put together a generous and eclectic program, true to the festival's spirit: a weekend of artistic discoveries, celebration, and sharing for all ages.
The festival opens its doors on Friday evening with a concert evening dedicated to festive songs and lively rhythms. Headlining, Les Yeux d'la Tête, an essential Parisian band of French festive song, will bring their infectious energy, sharp lyrics, and musical universe mixing French chanson, cumbia, ska, and Balkan music under the tent. They will be accompanied by Vaudou Game, a musical project by Togolese guitarist Peter Solo, which offers a powerful and hypnotic afro-funk inspired by West African voodoo sounds of the 1970s. Le Disque Jockey will provide the DJ set of the evening to extend the party until the end of the night.
Saturday is dedicated to the traditional Clown Night, an emblematic event of the Zéphyr Festival. The centerpiece of this evening will be "Quarantaine", a solo show by Véronique Tuaillon, a respected figure of contemporary clowning, who explores with tenderness and humor themes of age, the body, and solitude. Two opening clown acts will kick off the evening, offering the audience a journey into the quirky and poetic universe of clown arts.
Sunday, as every year, will be dedicated to families with a full day of free entertainment and shows. "Plastic Boum Boum" by Compagnie Du Turfu will offer a quirky and inventive musical show for young audiences. "L'Ourse" by Compagnie In(c)lassable will present a poetic and touching street theater performance. La Plaine des Jeux will take over the site with its fairground rides, carnival games, walking band, and discovery workshops. The participatory show "Ensemble autour du Monde" (Together Around the World), bringing together amateurs from various disciplines, will close this day in a spirit of sharing and encounters.
