The great summer popular festival of Grigny, city of the rose and solidarity in Essonne
Every summer, Grigny (91350) celebrates its city festival with concerts, sports activities, circus shows, and a guinguette. Known for its Grignoise rose and its spirit of solidarity, this Essonne commune of 30,000 inhabitants offers a free summer program open to all in its green spaces.
Grigny is a commune in Essonne with approximately 30,000 inhabitants, notably known for the Grande Borne, an emblematic social housing complex from the 1970s, and for its Grignois rose, a hardy rose that blooms each year in the commune's gardens and green spaces. Despite economic and social challenges, Grigny is also a city of great cultural and associative vitality, which organizes an annual city festival focused on conviviality and living together.
The Fête de la Ville de Grigny offers a program accessible to all each summer:
The city of Grigny regularly organizes events under the label “Un été renversant” (An Amazing Summer), a cultural initiative that brings quality shows to the commune's neighborhoods during the summer. From June to August, circus, theater, and dance companies offer shows, workshops, and open-air performances, often free, in the city's public spaces and parks.
In 2025, the company Frères Kazamaroffs offered circus shows, free workshops open to all from age 9 with registration, and open-air performances in Grigny.
Grigny is home to one of the most remarkable collective housing complexes in France: the Grande Borne, designed by architect Émile Aillaud in the 1960s-1970s. With its organic shapes, mosaics, and sculpted public spaces, the Grande Borne is now recognized as exceptional architectural heritage and is listed as a Historic Monument. The city festival is also an opportunity to discover or rediscover this unique heritage.
July 14th is also celebrated in Grigny with a communal fireworks display and activities that bring residents together around republican values.
The summer of 2025 in Grigny offered a rich summer program with concerts, circus shows by the Frères Kazamaroffs company, sports activities, and National Day festivities. All took place in the commune's green and public spaces, with strong participation from local associations.
The 2026 City Festival is planned for the summer of 2026, with the usual program of free summer activities open to all Grigny residents and visitors.
Grigny's 2026 summer season will feature concerts, circus and street shows, sports activities, and the national holiday with fireworks. Free summer program open to all in the commune's public spaces. Free admission.
The summer of 2026 in Grigny will once again offer a festive and cultural program accessible to all. Open-air concerts, circus and street shows, sports activities, and creative workshops will animate the commune's public spaces throughout the summer.
