The Fête de la Musique in Cholet: an entire city in music

As every year since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city center of Cholet into a huge open-air stage on June 21st. This national, free, and popular event takes on a special dimension in Cholet thanks to careful organization that deploys eighteen concert venues throughout the city center, which becomes pedestrianized for the occasion from 8 PM.

Eighteen stages for all tastes

Musical diversity is at the heart of the Cholet Fête de la Musique. The eighteen stages cover a wide spectrum of genres: pop, rock, jazz, blues, French chanson, electronic music, hip-hop, rap, gospel, African percussion, and many more. Each venue has its own identity: Place Travot hosts pop/rock bands, the Jardin de Verre vibrates to the sounds of electro and rock, Rue Saint-Pierre resonates with hip-hop and rap, while the arcades and restaurants in the city center offer more intimate atmospheres.

Local artists and discoveries

The Fête de la Musique in Cholet makes it a point of honor to promote local artists and offer them a stage in front of a large audience. Amateur and professional musicians are invited to perform, in a spirit of sharing and discovery. Registrations are open each spring via the City's Cultural Service.

A moment of sharing and conviviality

The evening of June 21st is also a moment of conviviality and encounters. The carillon of the Sacré-Cœur church offers an exceptional concert at 8:30 PM, followed by a choral concert at 9 PM. The café and restaurant terraces extend the celebration until 1 AM, in a summery and relaxed atmosphere.
