Palaiseau's Fête de la Musique stands out with its organization into three simultaneous stages, allowing everyone to freely move between concerts according to their musical preferences. This dynamic and participatory setup encourages artistic discovery and strolling through the town center.
On Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, performances alternate between a local talent stage in the first part of the evening and lively DJ sets later on. Place de la Victoire hosts more acoustic ensembles, such as world music orchestras or international variety artists. Finally, the square on Rue de Paris is traditionally dedicated to amateur artists who wish to share their passion with the public.
A tribute to tributes and musical diversity
Palaiseau's 2025 Fête de la Musique notably featured a concert tribute to Depeche Mode, the iconic British new wave band, reinterpreted by passionate local musicians. The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Palaiseau takes place over two days, Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21, 2026, with free open-air concerts in the city center. On the program: amateur talent stages throughout the day, a batucada parade from the train station to Place de la Victoire, and two evening event concerts — Steel Young (pop-rock covers from the 1990s) and Morphine, a tribute to Indochine.
2026 Edition: two days of music on June 20 and 21
For 2026, the City of Palaiseau extends its Fête de la Musique over two days, Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21. The concerts are entirely free and are spread across Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, Place de la Victoire, and the square on Rue de Paris, in the heart of the city center.
Saturday, June 20
The first day highlights amateur talents, from 12:30 PM to 6:30 PM, on Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, then on Place des Causeuses and the square on Rue de Paris. In the late afternoon, a batucada parade will make its way from Palaiseau train station to Place de la Victoire (La Capsula, Tropical Corridor, and Conservatoires Palaiseau-Saclay). The evening concludes on the main stage of Place de la Victoire with Steel Young (pop-rock covers from the 90s) followed by Morphine, paying tribute to the world of Indochine.
Sunday, June 21
On Sunday, June 21, the official day of the Fête de la Musique, Place de la Victoire once again hosts amateur stages from 10 AM to 2 PM and then from 4 PM to 7 PM, open to all styles: pop, rock, rap, chanson, acoustic sets, or world music.
