The Fête de la Musique in Rouen
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Rouen into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from the afternoon until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences: it's the longest musical evening of the year.
A celebration in the heart of the medieval city
Usually, Rouen's historic center lends itself particularly well to the celebration: the Place de la Cathédrale offers a spectacular Gothic setting, the Place du Général de Gaulle hosts a large stage, and the Place du Vieux-Marché as well as the pedestrian Rue du Gros-Horloge extend the concerts throughout the medieval sector. Cultural venues, starting with the conservatory, also open their doors during the day.
