About Fête de la Musique in Saint-Malo
Each June 21, Saint-Malo celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, local groups, and established artists play for free in the streets of the corsair city, from the ramparts of Intra-Muros to the seaside esplanades. Organized by the City of Saint-Malo, the day is entirely free and features pop, rock, blues, folk, jazz, RNB, electro, and sea shanties.
The Fête de la Musique in Saint-Malo
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the corsair city into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely invades public spaces in the late afternoon and evening, in all genres and for all audiences, between the ramparts of the old city and the esplanades open to the English Channel.

Usually, the City of Saint-Malo sets up several open-air stages across the commune: the historic Intra-Muros district and its squares, the seaside esplanades, and parks host concerts by local groups, open stages, and street performances. The program features a dialogue between pop, rock, blues, folk, jazz, RNB, electro, and traditional Breton music.
