Every June 21, Villeneuve-sur-Lot celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, music schools, shopkeepers, and associations bring the city center to life for free, from Place Lafayette to the surrounding streets. Organized by the City of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, the evening is entirely free and open to all to celebrate the beginning of summer.

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the bastide of Villeneuve-sur-Lot into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces in the heart of the Lot-et-Garonne city, from early evening until late into the night, in all styles and for all audiences.
A celebration in the heart of the bastide
Usually, Place Lafayette hosts the main stage of the evening, complemented by stages animated by shopkeepers and associations in the city center streets, as well as concerts by local bands and music schools. The program mixes genres, from chanson to pop, from classical to festive music, in a friendly atmosphere.
