About Fête de la Musique in Viry-Châtillon
Every June 21, Viry-Châtillon celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, choirs, music school students, and local groups play for free on the town hall square and in the streets of the commune. Organized by the City of Viry-Châtillon in partnership with MJC Les Passerelles, the day is entirely free and open to all.

The Fête de la Musique joins forces with the Fête des Lacs on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Enjoy a DJ set starting at 7:30 PM, followed by a free concert from The Love Beatles tribute band. The free daytime program also features water activities and games around the lakes.

The Fête de la Musique in Viry-Châtillon
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the Essonne commune of Viry-Châtillon into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces to celebrate the shortest night of the year and the arrival of summer, in all genres and for all audiences.
A local festival, supported by associations
In Viry-Châtillon, the festival usually features an open stage for amateur musicians — set up on the town hall square — where local artists perform solo, in duos, or in groups. The program brings together local active forces: MJC Les Passerelles, the municipal music school and its ensembles, as well as the town's choirs and vocal ensembles.
