Every June 21, Viry-Châtillon celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, choirs, music school students, and local groups play for free on the town hall square and in the streets of the commune. Organized by the City of Viry-Châtillon in partnership with MJC Les Passerelles, the day is entirely free and open to all.

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the Essonne commune of Viry-Châtillon into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces to celebrate the shortest night of the year and the arrival of summer, in all genres and for all audiences.
