Grand traditional funfair in Senlis with 70 rides and attractions
The Fête de la Saint-Rieul is the largest funfair in Senlis and one of the most important in the Oise region. Every year from April to May, for over two weeks, the cours Thoré-Montmorency hosts 70 rides and attractions for the enjoyment of young and old alike. An unmissable family event of spring in the Oise.
The Fête de la Saint-Rieul is one of the oldest and most popular traditions in Senlis. Every spring, this large funfair takes over the cours Thoré-Montmorency, a wide tree-lined avenue at the edge of the medieval town, for over two weeks of festivities and family entertainment.
Saint Rieul (Regulus in Latin) is considered the first bishop of Senlis, who evangelized the city in the 3rd century. The festival bearing his name has been celebrated for centuries in Senlis and is a highlight of local life. Over time, the religious celebrations have been enriched with a secular dimension with the installation of a funfair that has become the heart of the event.
The Saint-Rieul funfair brings together around 70 rides and attractions for all ages and tastes:
The fair's aisles are filled with the sweet aromas of traditional confectionery:
