The popular festivities of Nozay organized by the Comité des Fêtes throughout the year
In Nozay, Essonne, the Comité des Fêtes enlivens community life with festive events throughout the year: Fête de la Musique in June, July 14th fireworks, flea markets, fairs, and a Christmas village in December. The big summer festival brings together residents and associations in the heart of the village for concerts, entertainment, and conviviality.
A town in Essonne with approximately 7,000 inhabitants, Nozay is a town that carefully cultivates its associative and festive life thanks to the remarkable dynamism of its Comité des Fêtes. This committee, founded several decades ago, is the driving force behind a rich and diverse community life that punctuates the calendar of Nozay residents throughout the year.
The Comité des Fêtes de Nozay stands out for the diversity and quality of its events. The association mobilizes dozens of dedicated volunteers to design, prepare, and organize events suitable for all audiences—young and old, sports and cultural, party-goers and families. Each event is carefully prepared, respecting local traditions and with renewed creativity from one edition to the next.
Throughout the seasons, the committee enlivens the town with a program that covers the entire year: Saint-Patrick's Day in March, the spring Carnival, the Easter egg hunt, the Pentecost celebrations, the July 14th fireworks, autumn fairs and flea markets, railway modeling or Lego exhibitions, and of course the Christmas Village in December.
One of the most popular events of the year is the Fête de la Musique, celebrated every June 21st under the Market Hall, on the Place de la Mairie. From 7 PM to 11:30 PM, concerts and dance performances by local associations, the conservatory, and Nozay groups follow one another in a festive and relaxed atmosphere that seems made for long summer evenings.
The highlight of the musical evening is the concert by the ABBA tribute band—or other surprise headliners depending on the editions—which makes the hall vibrate to the rhythm of timeless hits, inviting young and old to sing and dance under the stars. Food trucks provide food and drinks, contributing to the festive and relaxed atmosphere of this long summer evening. Admission is completely free, in the spirit of openness and sharing that characterizes the Fête de la Musique.
At the other end of the calendar, the December Christmas Village is the second major highlight of the Nozay year. Over two days, the Place de la Mairie transforms into a fairytale village with its petting zoo, makeup and craft workshops, vintage carousels, vintage car exhibitions, meetings with Santa Claus, and family entertainment. The warm and bright atmosphere of this Christmas market gives the town an enchanted face for a few hours.
Nozay is a town that knows how to combine rural heritage and modernity. Its historic town center with its church, traditional farms, and village houses contrasts pleasantly with the suburban neighborhoods that have welcomed residents from the greater Paris region. The town festival contributes to this duality by offering entertainment that recalls rural traditions while adopting modern and participatory formats, meeting the expectations of a diverse and dynamic population.
The 2026 Fête de la Musique in Nozay will be organized on June 21st under the Market Hall with concerts by local associations and musical headliners. Free admission.
