The great Norman cider celebration in Beuzeville
The Fête du Cidre de Beuzeville annually celebrates Norman cider and the region's pomological traditions in this small town in the Eure, at the gateway to the Pays d'Auge. Around the Cidrerie, a former industrial site converted into a cultural space, visitors discover the secrets of cider making, watch demonstrations of traditional pressing, and taste local Norman products. A producers' market, family entertainment, and boogie-woogie dancing punctuate this festive and gourmet day.
The Fête du Cidre de Beuzeville is a gastronomic event that celebrates Normandy's emblematic drink in this town in the Eure, located at the gateway to the Pays d'Auge. This popular festival brings together farm cider producers, artisans, and local food enthusiasts for a day of tastings, demonstrations, and festive entertainment in a friendly and authentically Norman atmosphere.
The event takes place around the Cidrerie de Beuzeville, a former industrial cider house founded in 1833, which has been magnificently restored into a cultural space while preserving the original Norman architecture. This historic site—which also served as a seed warehouse in the 1950s—is now the beating heart of Beuzeville's cultural life. It offers an ideal setting to celebrate Norman cider heritage, blending industrial memory with modernity.
The highlight of the festival is the demonstration of traditional apple pressing, allowing visitors to discover the traditional process of making Norman cider. Local producers offer guided tastings of farm cider—sweet, semi-dry, brut—as well as poiré, calvados, pommeau, and apple juice. A producers' market brings together about twenty exhibitors showcasing the riches of the Norman terroir.
The festival is enlivened by numerous activities for all audiences: boogie-woogie dance demonstrations in the village square, culinary workshops on apples and cider, traditional games, and entertainment for children. Visitors can enjoy food on-site with crêpes, galettes, and local dishes, accompanied, of course, by a glass of farm cider.
Located between the Risle Valley and the Seine estuary, Beuzeville occupies a crossroads position between Lieuvin and Pays d'Auge. This geographical location makes it a prime spot for celebrating Norman cider traditions, at the intersection of the high-stemmed apple orchards that characterize the Norman bocage and contribute to the region's renowned ciders.
The Fête du Cidre de Beuzeville returns in October 2026 for a new edition around the Cidrerie. Tastings of farm cider, traditional pressing, producers' market, and entertainment for all.
