Bastille Day in Montpellier returns on July 13th and 14th, 2026. Organized annually by the City of Montpellier, this free celebration combines an official ceremony, a torchlight procession, a sound and light show at Peyrou, an open-air concert, a firefighters' ball, and a grand fireworks display.
As every year, the City of Montpellier organizes the Bastille Day festivities on July 13th and 14th, 2026. Access to all activities is free.
The usual program for Montpellier's Bastille Day traditionally unfolds over two evenings: an official ceremony and arms presentation at Place de la Comédie, a torchlight procession towards the Place Royale du Peyrou with distribution of lanterns to children, a sound and light show at the Peyrou water tower, an open-air concert by the Opéra Orchestre national de Montpellier Occitanie, a firefighters' ball at Parc Georges-Charpak, and a grand fireworks display launched in the Montpellier sky.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition (times, locations, and theme of the fireworks display) has not yet been published by the City of Montpellier. It will be specified in the weeks leading up to the event.
