On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the city of Sète celebrates Bastille Day by the sea at the Fontaine – Villeroy beach. The entire evening is free and open to everyone.
The Concert
Starting at 8:30 PM, the Grand Orchestre LSP kicks off the evening on the Fontaine – Villeroy beach, playing a mix of French and international hits from the 1980s to today until 10:45 PM. The concert will resume on the beach immediately after the fireworks.
The Fireworks
The fireworks display begins at 10:45 PM. It will be launched from a barge positioned at sea, about twenty meters off the lido beach, rather than from the usual rocky outcrop. Following a July 8th departmental ban on pyrotechnics due to fire risks, the City secured a special exemption on July 13th by guaranteeing the display would be launched from the water.
Where to watch the fireworks
The best view is facing the sea from the Fontaine – Villeroy beach and the nearby esplanade, where the concert is also taking place. The site is accessible to visitors with motor and visual disabilities. The Sète seafront attracts large crowds, so it is best to arrive early to secure a good spot.

The July 14th National Day in Sète
Every July 14th, the town of Sète invites you to the seaside at the Plage de la Fontaine – Villeroy for a completely free evening featuring an open-air concert and a grand fireworks display over the Mediterranean. It is one of the most popular summer events in Sète, located in the Hérault department of Occitanie.

The formula is simple and effective: an orchestra performs on the beach to kick off the evening, followed by the fireworks display, and then the music continues on the sand. The Sète seafront, with its long beach and esplanade, provides a natural amphitheatre setting facing the sea.
