About Fête Votive de
The Votive Festival (Villeneuve Local Festival) of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone is the great traditional festival of the Hérault commune, organized by the Festival Committee in partnership with the Bullfighting Section and Villeneuve Pétanque. For five days, young and old enjoy a rich festive and Camargue program in the heart of the village.
A votive festival of Camargue tradition
The Votive Festival of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone perpetuates the bullfighting and festive tradition of Languedoc. The usual program includes : abrivados, encierros, bandidos, bull-pool, and Camargue races, but also a big ball every evening at the Grand Jardin (orchestra or DJ), a spectacular fireworks display launched from the rugby stadium, a funfair at the Grand Jardin, and the famous waiters' race in the main street.
The event is organized by the Festival Committee, in partnership with the Bullfighting Section and Villeneuve Pétanque, and takes place with free access in the village center.
