The great spring fair of Argentan
The Foire Quasimodo is one of the most anticipated events on the Argentan calendar. Every year, the weekend after Easter — traditionally called Quasimodo Sunday — the Champ de Foire d'Argentan comes alive to host this historic fair that combines an exhibition, a funfair, and popular entertainment.
The Spring Fair, organized within the exhibition hall and in the outdoor areas of the Champ de Foire, brings together around forty exhibitors showcasing their products and services around various themes: home, garden, landscaping, well-being, leisure, and local crafts. It's the perfect opportunity for visitors to discover new products, compare offers, and meet professionals from the region.
Beyond the exhibition, the Foire Quasimodo offers a rich and varied entertainment program. Visitors can enjoy free fitness and Zumba classes, a motor skills area for children under 4 years old, various demonstrations, and the presence of local personalities. The traditional funfair completes the offering with its rides, game stalls, and classic treats: cotton candy, churros, and waffles.
The origins of the Foire Quasimodo date back to 1919, when the event took its current form. For over a century, this fair has marked the spring in Argentan and has been a moment of conviviality and meeting for the inhabitants of the Pays d'Argentan and surrounding towns. Over the decades, the format has evolved to adapt to public expectations, while retaining the festive and popular spirit that makes it successful.
