The largest food truck festival in France at Parc des Bizais in Buxerolles
Created in 2020 by Frédéric Brousse, the Food Trucks Festival 86 has established itself in just a few editions as the largest gathering of food trucks in France and the third largest in the world, behind the festivals in New York and Brussels. Held annually at the Parc des Bizais in Buxerolles, in the Grand Poitiers urban area, the event brings together over one hundred food trucks from across France for five days of outdoor gourmet celebration. The 2024 edition welcomed 131,000 visitors, while the 2025 edition gathered 115,000 festival-goers despite one less day of programming and an unexpected thunderstorm on Saturday evening.
The heart of the festival beats to the rhythm of flavors from around the world. Artisanal burgers, Mexican tacos, Vietnamese spring rolls, African cuisine with the popular Gnama truck, Neapolitan pizzas, Breton galettes, Caribbean specialties, sweet crepes, churros, and waffles: every aisle of the park is an invitation to a gastronomic journey. Among the hundred food trucks, about forty are renewed each year to ensure discovery and surprise. Unusual trucks add an original touch to the event: hairdressers, barbers, tattoo artists, florists, a mobile escape game, and even a wellness area with massages complete this unique offering.
The Food Trucks Festival 86 is not just about taste buds: it's also a true music festival. Two large stages host over forty free concerts during the five days of the event. The eclectic and festive program mixes rock, pop, reggae, jazz, soul, and guinguette music to accompany the tastings from opening in the late afternoon until nightfall. Local and regional artists perform alongside bands from all over France, creating a continuous musical atmosphere that transforms the Parc des Bizais into a huge open-air dance floor.
The spirit of the Food Trucks Festival 86 is resolutely family-friendly and inclusive. A central play area, equipped with swings, slides, giant wooden games, and inflatable structures, allows children to have fun safely while parents enjoy their meals. Entry is completely free, including concerts, making the event accessible to everyone. The festival also has a strong commitment to solidarity: a portion of the proceeds is donated to the Fonds Aliénor through the C.C.C. (Concerts Against Cancer) initiative and to the association Kap Vie to support cancer research. Solidarity scratch cards for one euro and a twenty-five cent contribution on each drink sold fund this cause.
The Parc des Bizais, a vast green space in the heart of Buxerolles, offers an ideal setting for an event of this scale. A few minutes from the center of Poitiers and served by Grand Poitiers public transport, the park transforms each May into an ephemeral village of food trucks, music stages, and relaxation areas. The organization, led by Frédéric Brousse's company GIGI Événements with the support of the town of Buxerolles, ensures impeccable logistics and enhanced security to welcome over a hundred thousand visitors in the best conditions.
The Food Trucks Festival 86 held its 7th edition from Wednesday, May 13th to Sunday, May 17th, 2026, at Parc des Bizais in Buxerolles. The official opening took place on Wednesday, May 13th at 6:00 PM, followed by four days of continuous entertainment until Sunday, May 17th at 6:00 PM. The festival maintained its principle of free admission for all five days, including concerts.
Nearly a hundred food trucks and caravans — including about forty new ones compared to 2025 — took over the park to offer a culinary world tour: artisanal burgers, African cuisine, Asian specialties, Neapolitan pizzas, Breton galettes, Caribbean flavors, crepes, churros, and many others. The usual unusual trucks — hairdressers, barbers, tattoo artists, florists, escape game, and wellness area — were also back.
The musical program featured 40 free concerts spread across two large stages set up in the park. The eclectic program blended rock, pop, reggae, jazz, soul, and guinguette ambiance, accompanying festival-goers from Wednesday evening to Sunday afternoon. Artist/schedule details are not archived on the official edition page.
The children's area — swings, slides, giant wooden games, inflatable structures, and face painting — welcomed families throughout the festival. The solidarity commitment continued with the Concerts Against Cancer benefiting the Fonds Aliénor (pancreatic cancer research) and the Kap Vie association, through a solidarity raffle, donation boxes, and the participation of partners.
The organization initially projected 70,000 visitors for this 7th edition, a decrease compared to the 115,000 festival-goers in 2025. The bad weather (rain and coolness) indeed curbed attendance: a report from France Bleu ICI Vienne broadcast on May 16th, 2026, relayed exhibitors' concerns about the drop in attendance and the rise in logistical costs (fuel), while praising the loyalty of a "super courageous" public who came despite the rain. The festival nevertheless remains one of the largest gatherings of food trucks in France and the 3rd largest in the world, behind New York and Brussels.
