The Évry-Courcouronnes Association Fair: The Big Back-to-School Event

Every year in early September, the city of Évry-Courcouronnes (91000) kicks off the community season with its association fair, now officially known as the Association and Sports Festival. This major gathering lives up to its name: it is the place where residents come to get informed, connect, and get involved in city life. With nearly 18,000 visitors in 2025, it is one of the most popular back-to-school events in Essonne.

Nearly 200 associations to discover

The fair brings together the city's sports, cultural, social, environmental, and health associations, as well as local sports clubs, municipal facilities, and regional partners, all in one place. Each organization has a booth to introduce itself, showcase its activities, and welcome new members. The 2025 edition featured approximately 210 stands.

The day is designed as a one-stop shop for the new season: you can explore local activities, sign up for an association or club, register for a sports or cultural program, or even offer your services as a volunteer.

Demonstrations and entertainment

Sports and cultural demonstrations hosted by the associations punctuate the day, giving visitors a concrete idea of the activities on offer. These are accompanied by free activities—including trampolines, a climbing wall, parkour, airbag free-fall, circus arts and stilts, virtual reality, face painting, and a petting zoo—making the fair a perfect family outing. A food court run by the associations is open on-site, adding to the friendly atmosphere of the day.

Évry-Courcouronnes is the main city and prefecture of Essonne, created from the merger of Évry and Courcouronnes in 2019. With some 64,000 inhabitants, it is one of the most significant new towns in the Île-de-France region.
