Graf Zeppelin Festival: Metal Roars in Lessay

Born in 2019 at the initiative of the association Varoukustom, the Graf Zeppelin Festival is a metal and rock music festival held annually at the Espace Culturel de Lessay, in the Manche region. From its first edition in September 2019, the festival showed its ambitions with a lineup of 15 bands over three days, covering the entire metal spectrum.

All Styles of Metal Honored

The Graf Zeppelin Festival celebrates the diversity of heavy music. From hard rock to grindcore, including heavy metal, death metal, black metal, hardcore, and French rock, the lineup is broad to satisfy all lovers of powerful riffs and driving rhythms. Among the bands that have marked previous editions: Lofofora, Shaârghot, Aorlhac, Appalooza, and Pénitence Onirique.

A Non-Profit and Volunteer-Driven Festival

The Graf Zeppelin Festival is entirely run by passionate volunteers. About fifty volunteers mobilize each year to organize the event, from programming to logistics, including catering and public reception. This community spirit translates into a warm and friendly atmosphere, characteristic of human-scale festivals.

Strong Territorial Roots

Located at the Espace Culturel de Lessay, the festival benefits from a venue suitable for amplified concerts in the heart of the Cotentin. The Graf Zeppelin Festival is part of the cultural dynamic of Lessay, a town already known for its ancient fair and its Musical Hours at the abbey. After a first edition in September 2019, the festival has stabilized into a two-day format in May, with editions in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
