Hip-hop culture in all its forms in Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Born in February 2024 from a meeting with MC Solaar and supported by the association Des Lendemains Qui Chantent based in Tulle, the Hoora ! Festival quickly established itself as a must-attend event for hip-hop culture in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. From its very first edition, the festival brought together nearly 1,300 people for MC Solaar's concert in Tulle, demonstrating the Limousin region's appetite for urban cultures.
Hoora ! stands out for its traveling format, unfolding over ten days across several towns: Limoges, Tulle, Brive-la-Gaillarde, Égletons, Uzerche, and Clermont-Ferrand. In Limoges, the Centre Culturel John Lennon hosts the program, with concerts featuring national headliners and emerging talents from the French rap scene.
Beyond concerts, the festival explores all facets of hip-hop culture. The breakdance battles at the Espace Ventadour in Égletons bring together junior and professional dancers alongside renowned companies like Suprême Legacy. The writing and graffiti workshops allow the public to discover urban arts, while the MAO (music production) sessions open the doors to digital music creation.
The Kick-Off program, a true rap springboard integrated into the festival, offers a stage to emerging artists from the region. This support program embodies Hoora !'s philosophy: democratizing urban cultures, stimulating creativity, and keeping hip-hop alive in rural areas, far from major cities.
Throughout its editions, the festival has hosted major French rap artists: MC Solaar during the first edition, followed by Sniper (Algérino and Aketo), Jok'Air, Benjamin Epps, Spider ZED, Furax Barbarossa, and Cleon and Peter Rabbit. The programming mixes French hip-hop legends and the new generation, in a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
The Hoora ! Festival is preparing its third edition with a program that promises to be ambitious. Furax Barbarossa is already confirmed for a concert on April 24 in Tulle. The festival continues to unfold between Limoges, Tulle, Brive, Égletons, Uzerche, and Clermont-Ferrand, with its share of concerts, dance battles, workshops, and screenings.
